
Registered Respiratory Therapist, WPH (NICU)

- Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of respiratory conditions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Administer and monitor various respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and airway clearance techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies in the NICU.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate respiratory support as needed.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, and other professional development opportunities.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity towards patients and their families.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
- Represent Orlando Health and Winnie Palmer Hospital in a professional and positive manner.
Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Is Required For This Position. This Degree Should Be From An Accredited Institution And Should Include Coursework In Neonatal Respiratory Care.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Credential: The Candidate Must Hold A Current Rrt Credential From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc). This Credential Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Respiratory Therapy.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Nicu Is Preferred For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Respiratory Needs Of Premature And Critically Ill Newborns.
Active State Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold An Active License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist In The State Of Florida. This License Should Be In Good Standing And Free Of Any Disciplinary Actions.
Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification: The Candidate Must Hold Current Bls And Acls Certifications From The American Heart Association. These Certifications Demonstrate Proficiency In Basic And Advanced Life Support Techniques.
