Job Description

Welcome to Winnie Palmer Hospital, where we provide exceptional care to our youngest patients in need. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Orlando Health. As a Respiratory Therapist in our NICU, you will play a crucial role in helping our tiniest patients breathe easier and thrive. If you are passionate about pediatric respiratory care and providing compassionate, family-centered care, we would love for you to join our team. We require a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, as well as a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification and BLS certification. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate who is a team player, has excellent communication skills, and is dedicated to continuous learning and growth.   1. Provide respiratory care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Educate and train patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and equipment.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
  7. Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current respiratory care practices and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
  9. Communicate effectively with colleagues, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Assist in emergency situations and respond to codes as needed.
  11. Serve as a resource for other healthcare team members and provide guidance and support when needed.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  13. Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  15. Foster a positive and supportive work environment by being a team player and collaborating with colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current And Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Credential From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Registered Respiratory Therapist In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Setting.

  • Current And Valid Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Neonatal Respiratory Physiology And The Ability To Provide Specialized Care To Critically Ill Newborns.
