
Registered Nurse (RN) - Urogynecology

- Provide exceptional care to patients with urogynecological conditions, following established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for patients, incorporating their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, following medication safety protocols.
- Monitor patients' response to treatments and medications, reporting any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care measures to promote optimal health and well-being.
- Assist in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as pelvic exams and urodynamic testing, as directed by the physician.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote a safe and comfortable environment for patients during procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is in working condition and properly stocked with supplies.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and educational sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to urogynecological care.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of nursing practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for patients, including coordinating referrals and follow-up appointments.
- Stay updated on current trends and developments in urogynecology to provide evidence-based care to patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Is Typically Required To Become A Registered Nurse (Rn) At Orlando Health. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Skills Necessary For The Specialized Area Of Urogynecology.
Current Rn License: All Applicants Must Hold A Valid And Current Rn License In The State Of Florida. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Educational And Clinical Requirements Necessary To Provide Safe And Competent Care To Patients.
Urogynecology Experience: Orlando Health Is Seeking Candidates With Previous Experience In Urogynecology Or A Related Specialty Such As Gynecology Or Urology. This Experience Demonstrates The Nurse's Knowledge And Skills In Managing Common Urogynecological Conditions And Procedures.
Certification In Urogynecology Nursing: While Not Always Required, Holding A Certification In Urogynecology Nursing Shows A High Level Of Specialized Knowledge And Dedication To The Field. Popular Certifications In This Area Include The Urogynecology Nurse Practitioner (Ugnp) And Certified Urogynecology Nurse (Cun).
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Registered Nurse In Urogynecology, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial. This Includes The Ability To Provide Education, Support, And Counseling To Patients With Sensitive Urogynecological Issues. A Compassionate And Empathetic Approach Is Also Essential In This Role.
