  1. Provide high-quality patient care: The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse in this role is to provide exceptional patient care to the patients in the Medical Care Unit. This includes assessing patient needs, creating and implementing individualized care plans, and monitoring patient progress.
  2. Ensure patient safety: The RN is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, following safety protocols, and identifying and addressing potential risks.
  3. Make a positive impact on patients and their families: The RN must have a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families, and strive to make a positive impact on their lives through their nursing practice.
  4. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills: The RN must possess strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs, anticipate potential complications, and make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations.
  5. Communicate effectively: The RN must have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and healthcare team members. This includes providing clear and concise instructions, documenting patient information accurately, and reporting any changes in patient condition promptly.
  6. Maintain professional standards: The RN must adhere to professional standards of nursing practice, including ethical principles, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: The RN is responsible for collaborating with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  8. Promote patient-centered care: The RN must have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and work towards meeting the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License In The State Of Florida: This Is A Fundamental Requirement For Any Rn Position At Orlando Health, As It Ensures That The Candidate Is Qualified And Competent To Provide Medical Care In The State.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: While An Associate's Degree In Nursing Is The Minimum Requirement For Rn Licensure, Orlando Health Prefers Candidates With A Bsn Degree. This Further Education Demonstrates A Strong Foundation Of Nursing Knowledge And Critical Thinking Skills.

  • Previous Experience In A Medical Care Unit: Working In A Medical Care Unit Can Be Demanding, And Previous Experience In This Setting Is Highly Valued. It Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of A Medical Unit.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Necessary For Any Rn Working In A Medical Unit. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Life-Saving Interventions.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Medical Care Unit, The Rn Will Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Their Families.
