- Provide high quality and compassionate care to patients on the Orthopedic unit during night shifts.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient's condition and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay updated on best practices and advancements in orthopedic care.
- Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs are met.
- Mentor and support less experienced staff members.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between different levels of care.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment and maintain open communication with colleagues and superiors.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
- Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided on the Orthopedic unit.
Current Rn License: A Registered Nurse (Nightshift) At Orlando Health Must Have A Valid Rn License In The State Of Florida. This Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Necessary Educational And Training Requirements To Practice As An Rn.
Orthopedic Experience: Inpatient Orthopedic Units At Orlando Health Require Nurses To Have Previous Experience Working With Orthopedic Patients. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Orthopedic Surgeries, Post-Operative Care, And Rehabilitation Techniques.
Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Necessary For Any Nurse Working In An Inpatient Unit. These Certifications Ensure That The Nurse Is Trained In Emergency Response And Can Provide Life-Saving Interventions When Necessary.
Strong Communication Skills: Inpatient Orthopedic Nurses Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With The Interdisciplinary Team, Provide Patient Education, And Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
Ability To Work Night Shifts: The Role Of A Registered Nurse (Nightshift) At Orlando Health Requires The Ability To Work Overnight Hours. This Includes Being Able To Assess And Manage Patient Care During The Night, As Well As Being Able To Adjust To A Non-Traditional Work Schedule.
