Job Description

Welcome to Orlando Health, where we are committed to providing exceptional care for our patients and their families. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Mother Baby team on a full-time basis for night shifts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with new mothers and their newborn babies, providing vital support and guidance during their postpartum journey. As a member of our nursing team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mother baby nursing, excellent communication and critical thinking skills, and a dedication to delivering patient-centered care.   1. Provide direct patient care to new mothers and their newborns, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as needed.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  3. Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress and respond promptly to any changes in condition.
  6. Use critical thinking skills to anticipate and address potential issues or complications with patients and their babies.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and their families, adhering to infection control protocols.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers as they navigate the postpartum period.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices, procedures, and evidence-based research related to mother baby care.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to mother baby care.
  12. Adhere to all hospital and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
  13. Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care at all times.
  14. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve upon nursing skills and knowledge.
  15. Serve as a positive role model and mentor to other members of the nursing team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Program

  • Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Mother-Baby Nursing Or A Related Field

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care To New Mothers And Their Babies
