  1. Provide exceptional care to patients in the Intermediate Critical Care unit.
  2. Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and symptoms.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  5. Monitor and document patients' progress and response to treatments.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
  7. Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care interventions as needed.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards of practice.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  11. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  12. Serve as a patient advocate and uphold ethical standards.
  13. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  14. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  16. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  17. Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff.
  18. Stay current with advancements and changes in critical care practices.
  19. Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and participate in quality initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Registered Nurse Position At Orlando Health. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Practice, Preparing Nurses To Provide High-Quality Care In A Variety Of Settings.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure: All Candidates For The Intermediate Critical Care Position At Orlando Health Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Florida. This License Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment And Must Be In Good Standing With The State Board Of Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Setting: Intermediate Critical Care Is A Specialized Area Of Nursing That Requires Advanced Knowledge And Skills. Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Setting, Such As An Intensive Care Unit (Icu) Or Emergency Department, To Demonstrate Their Ability To Provide Competent And Compassionate Care To Acutely Ill Patients.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications: These Certifications Are Essential For Nurses Working In An Intermediate Critical Care Unit. Bls And Acls Provide Training In Basic And Advanced Life Support Techniques, Respectively, And Are Necessary For Responding To Emergency Situations And Providing Critical Interventions For Patients In Unstable Conditions.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: In An Intermediate Critical Care Unit, Nurses Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Also Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills To Assess And Prioritize Patient Needs, Make Sound Clinical Judgments, And Intervene In Emergent Situations. These Skills Are Crucial For Providing Safe, Efficient, And High-Quality Care In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment.
