- Provide compassionate and exceptional care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, symptoms, and progress.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-hospital care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest healthcare practices and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly assess and respond to emergency situations.
- Serve as a patient advocate and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Uphold the code of ethics and professional standards of nursing.
Current Rn License: A Qualified Candidate For A Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit Position At Orlando Health Must Possess A Current And Valid Rn License From The State Of Florida.
Icu Experience: Prior Experience Working In An Intensive Care Unit Setting Is Highly Preferred, As This Role Requires A High Level Of Critical Thinking And Advanced Nursing Skills.
Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Role, As The Nurse Will Be Responsible For Responding To Emergency Situations And Providing Life-Saving Interventions.
Critical Care Certification: Although Not Always Required, Having A Certification In Critical Care Nursing (Ccrn) Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Caring For Critically Ill Patients.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In An Intensive Care Unit Requires Frequent Collaboration With A Multidisciplinary Team, So Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
