  1. Provide compassionate and exceptional care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, symptoms, and progress.
  6. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-hospital care.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest healthcare practices and procedures.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
  11. Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly assess and respond to emergency situations.
  12. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
  13. Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  15. Uphold the code of ethics and professional standards of nursing.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License: A Qualified Candidate For A Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit Position At Orlando Health Must Possess A Current And Valid Rn License From The State Of Florida.

  • Icu Experience: Prior Experience Working In An Intensive Care Unit Setting Is Highly Preferred, As This Role Requires A High Level Of Critical Thinking And Advanced Nursing Skills.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Role, As The Nurse Will Be Responsible For Responding To Emergency Situations And Providing Life-Saving Interventions.

  • Critical Care Certification: Although Not Always Required, Having A Certification In Critical Care Nursing (Ccrn) Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Caring For Critically Ill Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In An Intensive Care Unit Requires Frequent Collaboration With A Multidisciplinary Team, So Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
