- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
- Monitor and assess patients’ health status, including vital signs, medication administration, and post-operative recovery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-operative care, including dietary and lifestyle changes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for bariatric nursing care.
- Stay current with advancements in bariatric surgery and nursing practices through continued education and training.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times, promoting a safe and supportive work environment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients as they navigate their weight loss journey.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients throughout their bariatric surgery experience.
Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Bariatric Unit Or Similar Healthcare Setting.
Bariatric Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Metabolic And Bariatric Surgery (Asmbs).
Strong Understanding Of Bariatric Surgical Procedures And Post-Operative Care, Including Patient Education And Support.
Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Surgeons, Dietitians, And Physical Therapists, To Provide Comprehensive Patient Care.
