  1. Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
  2. Monitor and assess patients’ health status, including vital signs, medication administration, and post-operative recovery.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  4. Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-operative care, including dietary and lifestyle changes.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for bariatric nursing care.
  10. Stay current with advancements in bariatric surgery and nursing practices through continued education and training.
  11. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times, promoting a safe and supportive work environment.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  13. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients as they navigate their weight loss journey.
  14. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and empathetic manner.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients throughout their bariatric surgery experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Bariatric Unit Or Similar Healthcare Setting.

  • Bariatric Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Metabolic And Bariatric Surgery (Asmbs).

  • Strong Understanding Of Bariatric Surgical Procedures And Post-Operative Care, Including Patient Education And Support.

  • Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Surgeons, Dietitians, And Physical Therapists, To Provide Comprehensive Patient Care.
