- Oversee the daily operations of the radiology department to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Manage and schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and smooth operations.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the radiology team.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards in the department.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of radiology supplies and equipment.
- Develop and implement protocols and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of diagnostic imaging services.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Train and mentor new radiology staff and monitor their performance.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and new technologies in radiology and implement them in the department as appropriate.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any issues.
- Handle patient inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain departmental quality standards.
- Attend departmental and hospital meetings as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the patient experience.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Education And Certification Requirements: A Radiology Tech, Lead At Orlando Health Should Have A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field. They Must Also Be Certified By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Previous Leadership Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In A Radiology Department. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing And Leading A Team Of Technicians.
Technical Skills And Knowledge: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Radiologic Technology And Equipment, Including X-Ray, Ct, Mri, And Ultrasound. They Should Also Be Proficient In Using Computer Software And Electronic Medical Records.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Lead In The Radiology Department, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Flexibility And Availability: The Candidate Should Be Available To Work Monday-Thursday From 10:00Am-8:30Pm, As Stated In The Job Description. Additionally, They Should Be Flexible To Work Weekends, Holidays, And Be On-Call When Needed. This Role May Also Require The Candidate To Work At Different Locations Within The Orlando Health System.
