- Provide patient care: The primary responsibility of a Physical Therapist Assistant at Orlando Health is to assist in providing exceptional healthcare services to our patients. This includes carrying out treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist, monitoring patient progress, and assisting with exercises and activities as needed.
- Collaborate with therapists: Our Physical Therapist Assistants work closely with our team of experienced therapists to design and implement effective treatment plans for our patients. This includes communicating patient progress and any concerns to the physical therapist and working together to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain documentation: It is essential for our Physical Therapist Assistants to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment plans. This includes completing patient notes, progress reports, and other necessary documentation according to established protocols.
- Educate patients and families: Our Physical Therapist Assistants play a crucial role in educating patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to aid in their recovery. This may include demonstrating exercises and providing instructions for at-home care.
- Ensure patient safety: The safety and well-being of our patients are of utmost importance. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, it is your responsibility to ensure that all equipment and treatment areas are clean and safe for patient use. You will also be responsible for monitoring patients during exercises and activities to prevent injury.

- Adhere to regulations and protocols: Our Physical Therapist Assistants must adhere to all regulations and protocols set forth by Orlando Health, as well as state and federal laws. This includes maintaining a valid PTA license and completing all necessary continuing education requirements.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals: Effective communication with other healthcare professionals is essential in providing comprehensive care
Valid State Licensure: A Physical Therapist Assistant Must Hold A Current And Valid License To Practice In The State Of Florida.
Cpr Certification: Candidates Should Have A Current Cpr Certification From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Heart Association.
Associate's Degree: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Physical Therapy Assisting From An Accredited Program Is Required.
Prior Experience: Previous Experience Working As A Physical Therapist Assistant Is Preferred, Especially In A Pool/Prn Setting.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Work With Patients, As Well As Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals, Is Essential For Success In This Role.
