Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a part-time basis, working nights and weekends. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient and safe operation of our pharmacy, supporting our pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care.   1. Support the pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care by accurately and efficiently preparing and dispensing medications.
  2. Ensure the safe and secure storage of all medications, following proper storage and handling protocols.
  3. Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles.
  4. Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent medication errors and ensure patient safety.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to provide excellent customer service and address any medication-related concerns.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication management and adherence to treatment plans.
  7. Follow all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to pharmacy operations and patient confidentiality.
  8. Maintain inventory levels and order medications and supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock.
  9. Prepare and process insurance claims and assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and copayments.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on new medications, procedures, and regulations.
  11. Keep work area clean and organized, following proper sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervising pharmacist.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician At Orlando Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Qualification.

  • Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Certification Or Equivalent State Certification.

  • Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Retail Or Hospital Setting Is Preferred.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medications And Pharmaceuticals: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medications, Their Uses, And Potential Side Effects. They Should Also Be Familiar With Pharmaceutical Equipment And Procedures.

  • Flexibility To Work Nights And Weekends: The Job Requires The Candidate To Work A Rotating Schedule That May Include Nights And Weekends. Therefore, The Candidate Must Be Willing And Able To Work During These Times.
