
Pharmacy Technician

- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medication under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of medication and inventory.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and patients to ensure proper medication orders and dosages.
- Perform routine tasks such as labeling and packaging medication.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safe handling and administration of medication.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on pharmacy procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medication and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervisor.
Completion Of An Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, Along With Completion Of A Pharmacy Technician Training Program Approved By The Accreditation Council For Pharmacy Education (Acpe).
Certification And/Or Licensure: Orlando Health Requires All Pharmacy Technicians To Hold A Valid Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). In Addition, Candidates Must Also Be Licensed By The State Of Florida.
Strong Knowledge Of Medication And Pharmacy Operations: Candidates Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Medications, Their Uses, And Potential Side Effects. They Must Also Be Familiar With Pharmacy Operations, Including Compounding, Dispensing, And Inventory Management.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Technicians At Orlando Health Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members On A Daily Basis. Effective Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For Providing Quality Patient Care And Maintaining A Positive Work Environment.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Pharmacy Technicians Are Responsible For Handling And Preparing Medications, Which Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy. Candidates Must Be Able To Follow Instructions And Guidelines Carefully To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Patients.
