Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Transport & Equipment Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients throughout our facilities, as well as maintaining and organizing medical equipment.   1. Safely transport patients throughout the facility, including to and from procedures, appointments, and testing areas.
  2. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while transporting patients, including proper lifting and transferring techniques.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized transport area and equipment storage areas.
  4. Ensure all necessary equipment is properly stocked and ready for use at all times.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide clear and concise instructions during transport.
  6. Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to coordinate patient transport schedules and prioritize urgent requests.
  7. Use computer systems to track and update patient transport records and equipment inventory.
  8. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and sterilization.
  9. Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department.
  10. Demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism while interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  11. Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  12. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to stay updated on procedures, protocols, and safety guidelines.
  13. Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to enhance the patient transport process.
  14. Follow all OSHA regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  15. Provide support to other departments and staff as needed in times of high patient volume or emergency situations.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Valid Driver's License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Driver's License With A Clean Driving Record. This Is Necessary To Operate The Transport Vehicle And To Transport Patients Safely And Efficiently.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Candidate Must Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond To Emergency Situations.

  • Experience In Patient Care: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Patient Care, Is Preferred For This Position. This Includes Experience In Transporting Patients, Handling Medical Equipment, And Providing Basic Patient Care.

  • Physical Ability: The Candidate Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift And Move Patients, As Well As Maneuver Medical Equipment. This Job Requires Standing, Walking, And Bending For Extended Periods Of Time, So Physical Stamina Is Necessary.
