  • Accurately and efficiently process patient billing and insurance claims in a timely manner
  • Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of patient accounts and billing information
  • Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their billing
  • Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes
  • Stay up-to-date on insurance policies and regulations to ensure compliance in billing practices
  • Identify and report any potential billing errors or issues to management for resolution
  • Assist with patient inquiries and provide support as needed to resolve billing inquiries

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Related Field: A Solid Educational Foundation In Accounting Is Essential For A Patient Accounting Specialist To Understand Complex Financial Processes And Systems.

  • Experience In Healthcare Finance Or Patient Accounting: Prior Experience In Healthcare Finance Or Patient Accounting Is Highly Desirable As It Demonstrates A Working Knowledge Of Medical Billing And Coding Practices.

  • Proficiency In Accounting Software: Strong Computer Skills And Experience With Accounting Software Such As Epic, Meditech, Or Cerner Are Necessary For Managing Patient Accounts And Financial Data Accurately.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Multitask: A Patient Accounting Specialist Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously To Ensure Accuracy And Efficiency In Billing And Payment Processing.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance: Familiarity With Healthcare Regulations And Compliance Such As Hipaa And Medicare Guidelines Is Crucial For A Patient Accounting Specialist To Accurately Process Claims And Maintain Patient Confidentiality.
