Job Description

Orlando Health is looking for a skilled Paramedic to join our team at ORMC PACU in a full-time, first shift position. As a Paramedic, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to patients in our post-anesthesia care unit. We are seeking candidates who are certified and licensed as Paramedics, with a strong understanding of emergency medical procedures and protocols.   1. Provide emergency medical care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
  2. Administer life-saving interventions and procedures according to established protocols.
  3. Assess and monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
  4. Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure proper care and treatment of patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
  7. Remain calm and composed in high-pressure and fast-paced situations.
  8. Stay up-to-date with all emergency medical procedures and protocols.
  9. Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of medical equipment and supplies.
  10. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
  11. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  12. Attend ongoing training and education programs to maintain certifications and licenses.
  13. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing compassionate care to patients.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Paramedic License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid And Active Paramedic License In The State Of Florida. This Ensures That The Individual Has Met All Necessary Training And Education Requirements To Practice As A Paramedic.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Setting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Paramedic In A Hospital Setting. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Emergency Situations And Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications: Candidates Must Possess Both Bls And Acls Certifications To Be Considered For This Role. These Certifications Are Essential For Providing Emergency Care And Resuscitation To Patients In Critical Situations.

  • Knowledge Of Pacu Procedures And Protocols: The Role Of A Paramedic In The Pacu (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Pacu Procedures And Protocols. Candidates Should Have A Strong Knowledge Of Patient Monitoring, Pain Management, And Emergency Procedures In The Pacu.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Paramedic In The Pacu, Effective Communication And Teamwork Are Crucial For Providing Quality Patient Care. Candidates Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
