  1. Provide exceptional patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of care.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
  5. Monitor and report changes in patient's condition, including vital signs and lab results.
  6. Utilize critical thinking skills to anticipate and address potential complications and intervene appropriately.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  9. Collaborate with preceptors and experienced nurses to gain hands-on experience and develop clinical skills.
  10. Follow established policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  11. Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
  12. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development.
  15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  16. Act as a patient advocate and ensure patient rights are respected.
  17. Participate in unit-based and hospital-wide committees and initiatives.
  18. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the unit manager or nursing leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Nurse Resident, Surgical Trauma At Orlando Health Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practical Skills.

  • Registered Nurse (Rn) License: All Candidates Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Florida. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Practice As A Nurse In The State.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Nurse Resident, Surgical Trauma, The Candidate Must Be Certified In Bls. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Respond To Emergency Situations.

  • Previous Experience In Surgical Trauma: While Not A Requirement, Previous Experience In A Surgical Trauma Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Demonstrates A Familiarity With The Unique Challenges And Skills Required For This Role.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Surgical Trauma Setting Requires Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide The Best Quality Care.
