Job Description

Welcome to the Orlando Health team! We are currently seeking a Nurse Resident to join our Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) on the night shift. As a Nurse Resident, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses and gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of a Level One Trauma Center.   1. Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients in the Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) during the night shift.
  2. Collaborate with experienced nurses to develop and implement patient care plans.
  3. Monitor and assess patient progress, identifying and addressing any changes in condition.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.
  6. Participate in patient education and discharge planning to promote wellness and prevent readmissions.
  7. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth by actively participating in educational opportunities and seeking feedback from experienced nurses.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, charting all interventions and responses to treatments.
  10. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patient needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
  11. Maintain professional and ethical standards, demonstrating accountability, integrity, and respect for patients and colleagues.
  12. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively and participating in team meetings and activities.
  13. Embrace a culture of quality and patient safety, utilizing evidence-based practice and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  14. Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification From The American Heart Association.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Or Equivalent Experience In A Nursing Program.

  • Previous Experience Or A Strong Interest In Surgical Nursing, Preferably In A Progressive Care Unit (Pcu).

  • Ability To Work Night Shifts And Weekends, As Well As Adapt To A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Work Environment.
