Job Description

  1. Perform high-quality MRI scans on patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
  2. Monitor and maintain patient safety during the scanning process, including proper positioning and use of contrast agents.
  3. Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  4. Educate patients on the MRI procedure and answer any questions or concerns.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all scans, including patient information, procedure details, and any issues or complications.
  6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely interpretation of MRI scans.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment, radiation protection, and infection control.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the MRI suite.
  9. Stay current with new developments and technology in MRI imaging and make recommendations for improvements to enhance patient care.
  10. Provide excellent patient care and customer service, ensuring patients are comfortable and their needs are met throughout the scanning process.
  11. Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of services.
  12. Participate in quality assurance activities and assist with maintaining accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  13. Act as a resource and mentor for other MRI technologists and students, providing guidance and training as needed.
  14. Adhere to the hospital's mission, vision, and values, and maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Certification: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field Is Required. The Candidate Must Also Hold A Valid Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Mri).

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience As An Mri Technologist In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. Experience With Advanced Mri Techniques, Such As Cardiac Or Neuroimaging, Is Preferred.

  • Technical Skills: The Candidate Must Possess The Technical Skills Necessary To Operate And Troubleshoot Mri Equipment, Including Knowledge Of Cross-Sectional Anatomy, Mri Physics, And Patient Positioning Techniques. Familiarity With Mri Software And Post-Processing Techniques Is Also Required.

  • Communication And Patient Care: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Mri Technologist Will Be Responsible For Explaining Procedures To Patients And Addressing Any Concerns Or Questions. The Candidate Must Also Possess Strong Patient Care Skills, Including The Ability To Provide Comfort And Reassurance To Patients During The Imaging Process.

  • Teamwork And Adaptability: The Candidate Must Be Able To Work Effectively As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, Collaborating With Radiologists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Ability To Adapt To Changing Situations And Handle A High Volume Of Patients Is Also Critical For Success In This Role.
