  1. Monitor cardiac rhythms of patients and identify any abnormalities.
  2. Notify medical staff promptly of any changes or irregularities in patient's cardiac rhythm.
  3. Operate cardiac monitoring equipment and accurately document findings in patient records.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring equipment is functioning properly.
  5. Communicate effectively with medical staff and colleagues, providing updates on patient conditions as needed.
  6. Monitor multiple patients simultaneously and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient confidentiality.
  8. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide the best possible care for patients.
  10. Attend and actively participate in training and educational programs to stay updated on new procedures and technologies.
  11. Maintain patient safety at all times and report any concerns to appropriate personnel.
  12. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
  13. Keep track of inventory and request necessary supplies when needed.
  14. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls): A Monitor Technician At Orlando Health Must Be Certified In Bls As They Will Be Responsible For Monitoring Patient Vital Signs And Responding To Emergency Situations.

  • Knowledge Of Ekg Interpretation: A Strong Understanding Of Electrocardiogram (Ekg) Interpretation Is Essential For A Monitor Technician, As They Will Be Responsible For Analyzing And Reporting Any Abnormalities In Heart Rhythms.

  • Experience With Cardiac Monitoring Equipment: Candidates For This Position Should Have Prior Experience Operating And Troubleshooting Various Types Of Cardiac Monitoring Equipment, As They Will Be Responsible For Maintaining And Troubleshooting Equipment During Their Shift.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: As A Monitor Technician, One Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Accurately In A Fast-Paced Environment, As They Will Be Responsible For Monitoring Multiple Patients Simultaneously.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For A Monitor Technician, As They Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Regarding Any Changes In A Patient's Condition Or Cardiac Rhythm.
