- Safely and efficiently operate a mobile medical unit, ensuring the timely transport of medical personnel and equipment to various locations
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including regular inspections and reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while driving, including adhering to traffic laws and utilizing defensive driving techniques
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, understanding the importance of providing access to healthcare services for underserved communities
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate the needs of the mobile medical unit
- Utilize navigation tools and follow directions to reach destinations safely and efficiently
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, such as filling gas, changing tires, and checking oil levels
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the services provided by the mobile medical unit and contribute to the overall mission of Orlando Health to improve community health and well-being.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Mobile Medical Unit Driver At Orlando Health Must Possess A Valid Cdl To Legally Operate The Medical Unit On Public Roads.
Previous Driving Experience: This Position Requires A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Previous Driving Experience, Preferably With Large Vehicles Such As Buses Or Rvs.
Clean Driving Record: The Candidate Must Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Traffic Violations Or Accidents In The Past 3 Years.
Knowledge Of Medical Equipment: A Mobile Medical Unit Driver Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Medical Equipment And Be Able To Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise During Transport.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Driver Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Medical Staff, And Other Drivers On The Road. Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Also Necessary For Building Rapport With Patients And Providing Compassionate Care.
