  1. Conduct blood product testing and analysis accurately and efficiently.
  2. Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures utilizing various techniques and instrumentation.
  3. Ensure quality control measures are followed and results are accurate and reliable.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
  6. Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members to provide quality patient care.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Stay up-to-date with current laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  9. Participate in training and mentoring of new laboratory staff.
  10. Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies.
  11. Follow all applicable laws and regulations related to laboratory testing and ensure compliance.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and ensure timely reporting of results.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with accreditation processes.
  15. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  16. Continuously strive for process improvement and identify areas for optimization.
  17. Collaborate with other departments and external agencies as needed.
  18. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while providing excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  19. Adhere to ethical standards and code of conduct in all aspects of job performance.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp, Amt)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Blood Bank Setting

  • Knowledge Of Blood Banking Procedures And Regulations, Including Aabb Standards And Fda Guidelines

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, Attention To Detail, And Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
