1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing Services department.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the sterilization of medical equipment and instruments to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
3. Manage a team of sterile processing technicians, providing direction, training, and support to ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency.
4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, ordering and restocking as needed.
5. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate and prioritize the processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
6. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
7. Conduct regular audits and quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards and identify areas for improvement.
8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and staff training.
9. Develop and manage departmental budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
10. Stay informed about new developments and advancements in the field of sterile processing, and incorporate best practices into department operations.
11. Foster a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a commitment to excellence.
12. Serve as a liaison between the Sterile Processing Services department and other departments, providing information and addressing concerns as needed.
13. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all staff.
14. Represent the department in meetings and committees, providing updates and recommendations as needed.
15. Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff, promoting professional development and addressing any performance issues.
