Job Description

Welcome to Orlando Health Medical Group (OHMG) Access Center, where we strive to provide the highest quality of patient access services to our community. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our patient access team at our Downtown Orlando location. As the Manager of Patient Access, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of our patient access department. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and has the necessary skills and qualifications to excel in this role.   1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the patient access department at the Downtown Orlando location.
  2. Train, coach, and develop a team of patient access staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
  3. Monitor and maintain the department's performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, wait times, and productivity.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and implement process improvements to enhance the patient experience.
  6. Manage the scheduling and staffing of the patient access team to meet operational needs and maintain adequate coverage.
  7. Oversee the registration and verification of patient information, insurance coverage, and financial responsibility.
  8. Monitor insurance authorizations and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  9. Ensure timely and accurate resolution of patient inquiries, complaints, and issues.
  10. Implement and maintain effective communication strategies with patients, staff, and other departments to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in patient access and incorporate them into department operations.
  12. Collaborate with other managers and leaders to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
  13. Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and address any performance issues as needed.
  14. Serve as a role model for exceptional customer service and professional behavior.
  15. Represent the patient access department in meetings and committees as required.
  16. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  17. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the patient access team.
  18. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Patient Access Management Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance Standards, Such As Hipaa And Cms Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team.

  • Proven Track Record Of Implementing Process Improvements And Achieving Operational Efficiency In A High-Volume Environment.
