
Licensed Practical Nurse, Perioperative Anesthesia

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our surgical team as a Perioperative Anesthesia Nurse. In this role, you will work closely with the anesthesiologist and surgical team to assist in preparing patients for surgery and providing care during the perioperative period. - Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care during the perioperative period.
- Prepare patients for surgery by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Administer pre-operative medications as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Monitor patient's condition during surgery and provide any necessary interventions.
- Assist anesthesiologist with the administration of regional and general anesthesia.
- Anticipate potential complications and take appropriate action to prevent or address them.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care provided.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Monitor and document patient's post-operative recovery, including vital signs and pain management.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding post-operative care and pain management.
- Ensure sterile technique is maintained in the perioperative environment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on current practices and procedures in perioperative anesthesia nursing.
- Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment used in the perioperative setting.
- Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and their concerns are addressed.
Valid Lpn License In The State Of Florida: The First And Most Important Qualification For This Job Is A Valid And Current Lpn License In The State Of Florida. This License Is Required To Practice As A Nurse In The Perioperative Anesthesia Department At Orlando Health.
Prior Experience In Perioperative Anesthesia: Candidates For This Job Should Have Prior Experience Working In The Perioperative Anesthesia Department. This May Include Experience In A Hospital Setting Or In A Similar Role At Another Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Anesthesia Procedures And Equipment: Lpns In This Role Will Be Responsible For Assisting With Anesthesia Procedures And Administering Medications Under The Supervision Of An Anesthesiologist. Therefore, Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Anesthesia Procedures And Equipment.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: Lpns In This Role Will Work Closely With Anesthesiologists, Surgeons, And Other Healthcare Team Members. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Ensuring The Safe And Efficient Delivery Of Patient Care.
Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: Working In The Perioperative Anesthesia Department Can Be Fast-Paced And High-Stress At Times. Candidates Should Have The Ability To Remain Calm And Focused In These Situations, And Be Able To Handle Any Unexpected Emergencies That May Arise.
