
Laboratory Assistant II

- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures and tests accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process patient samples for testing in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues when necessary, and report any malfunctions.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
- Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of results.
- Accurately record and report test results to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to quality control standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and team members regarding laboratory processes and results.
- Comply with all applicable regulations and standards, including HIPAA, CLIA, and OSHA.
- Attend and participate in training programs, workshops, and other educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical standards.
- Uphold the mission and values of Orlando Health and represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With Additional Education Or Training In A Related Field Preferred.
Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Specimen Collection, Processing, And Analysis.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Follow Strict Protocols And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively As Part Of A Team.
