- Perform accurate and timely processing of patient samples according to established laboratory procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and maintenance of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
- Utilize electronic medical records and laboratory information systems to accurately record and track patient samples.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, healthcare team members, and patients to provide timely and accurate test results.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to all quality control and quality assurance standards to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Participate in proficiency testing and maintain competency in all laboratory procedures.
- Assist with training and orientation of new laboratory staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve laboratory processes and streamline workflow.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and changes in laboratory procedures and technologies.
- Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Laboratory Assistant Or In A Related Field.
Associate's Degree In A Science-Related Field Or Completion Of A Certified Laboratory Assistant Program.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Procedures And Protocols.
Ability To Multitask And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Other Healthcare Professionals And Patients.
