Educational Background In Science Or A Related Field: A Laboratory Assistant Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With A Preference For Candidates Who Have Completed A Post-Secondary Program In A Science-Related Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Medical Laboratory Technology.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Protocols And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Safety Procedures, Quality Control Measures, And Standard Laboratory Practices. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Handling And Disposal Of Hazardous Materials, As Well As Experience With Specimen Collection, Processing, And Analysis.
Familiarity With Laboratory Equipment And Technology: A Laboratory Assistant Should Have Experience Using And Maintaining Various Laboratory Equipment, Such As Microscopes, Centrifuges, And Spectrophotometers.
