We are currently seeking a highly qualified and passionate Lab Section Supervisor (Immunology) to join our team at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).As the Lab Section Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in our immunology department, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lab section and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of test results. You will also have the opportunity to lead a team of talented laboratory professionals and contribute to ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives. To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.   1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the immunology lab section, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management.
  2. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results by maintaining quality control measures and adhering to standard operating procedures.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of laboratory professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  4. Collaborate with other lab sections and departments to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
  5. Contribute to ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives, staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in immunology.
  6. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, including those set by CAP, CLIA, and OSHA.
  7. Monitor and manage budgetary and financial aspects of the lab section, including equipment and supply purchases.
  8. Manage and troubleshoot technical issues and equipment malfunctions, ensuring timely resolution.
  9. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the lab section.
  10. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for process improvements and new technology implementations.
  11. Represent the lab section and collaborate with other departments in meetings and committees.
  12. Support a culture of safety and continuous learning by promoting and enforcing lab safety protocols and providing ongoing training opportunities for staff.
  13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, including proficiency testing results, inspections, and audits.
  14. Serve as a role model for professionalism, patient-centered care, and teamwork within the lab section and throughout the organization.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the lab director or management team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Immunology, Biology, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Preferably In The Field Of Immunology.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Techniques, And Equipment Used In Immunology Testing.

  • Previous Experience In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role, With Demonstrated Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team.
