To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the immunology lab section, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results by maintaining quality control measures and adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Lead and mentor a team of laboratory professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with other lab sections and departments to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
- Contribute to ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives, staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in immunology.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, including those set by CAP, CLIA, and OSHA.
- Monitor and manage budgetary and financial aspects of the lab section, including equipment and supply purchases.
- Manage and troubleshoot technical issues and equipment malfunctions, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the lab section.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for process improvements and new technology implementations.
- Represent the lab section and collaborate with other departments in meetings and committees.
- Support a culture of safety and continuous learning by promoting and enforcing lab safety protocols and providing ongoing training opportunities for staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, including proficiency testing results, inspections, and audits.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, patient-centered care, and teamwork within the lab section and throughout the organization.
- Other duties as assigned by the lab director or management team.
Bachelor's Degree In Immunology, Biology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Preferably In The Field Of Immunology.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Techniques, And Equipment Used In Immunology Testing.
Previous Experience In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role, With Demonstrated Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team.
Excellent Communication, Organizational, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Departments And Healthcare Professionals.
