  1. Perform histological procedures accurately and efficiently, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping.
  2. Ensure proper labeling and identification of tissue samples for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Operate and maintain histology equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform quality control checks.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in histology results.
  5. Communicate effectively with pathologists and other team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote a safe and efficient workflow.
  7. Keep up-to-date with new techniques and technologies in the field of histology to improve processes and outcomes.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to protect self and others from potential hazards.
  9. Participate in training and mentoring of new staff members and students to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible patient care.
  12. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall performance of the histology department.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field

  • Certification As A Histotechnologist Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Histotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Procedures

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment
