
Histotechnologist - Full Time Days

- Prepare tissue samples for examination under a microscope in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adhere to established protocols and procedures for handling, processing, and storing tissue samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and staining machines.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Keep detailed records of all procedures and results, including maintaining accurate patient information.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and accurate results.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Participate in research projects and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the handling and processing of tissue samples.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Orlando Health in all aspects of the job.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in histology.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or equipment issues.
- Mentor and train new histotechnologists as needed.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) Through Ascp.
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Histology Laboratory Setting.
Familiarity With Standard Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Independently, As Well As In A Team Environment.
