  1. Conduct histology procedures: Perform histology techniques, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping, to prepare tissue samples for examination by a pathologist.
  2. Ensure accuracy and precision: Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and precise results for patient samples.
  3. Maintain laboratory equipment: Operate and maintain histology equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance to ensure proper functioning and accurate results.
  4. Monitor quality control: Perform quality control checks on equipment and reagents, document any deviations, and take corrective action as needed to maintain high-quality results.
  5. Collaborate with team members: Work closely with pathologists, laboratory technicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and accurate results.
  6. Practice safety protocols: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  7. Document and report results: Accurately document all procedures, results, and observations in the laboratory information system and prepare reports for pathologists.
  8. Maintain inventory: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and reagents, place orders as needed, and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
  9. Participate in continuous learning: Stay current with new developments and advancements in the field of histology, attend relevant conferences and training, and apply new techniques and technologies to improve laboratory processes.
  10. Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients, prioritize their needs, and ensure timely and accurate results to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Histology Laboratory Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Histological Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Immunohistochemistry.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Accurately Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Environment.
