Job Description

At Orlando Health, we are seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a HIM Document Imaging Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently scanning, indexing, and organizing medical records and other health information into our electronic health record system.   1. Scan and index medical records and other health information into electronic health record system.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all scanned documents.
  3. Organize and maintain electronic health records in a timely manner.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation is scanned and indexed.
  5. Verify patient information and maintain confidentiality of all records.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with scanning or indexing.
  7. Update and maintain document imaging tracking system.
  8. Adhere to all organizational and industry regulations and guidelines for document imaging and record keeping.
  9. Monitor and report on document imaging quality and productivity.
  10. Train and assist new staff members on document imaging processes and procedures.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to document imaging processes.
  14. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in electronic health record systems.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehrs): A Him Document Imaging Specialist At Orlando Health Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Ehrs And Be Able To Efficiently Navigate And Manage Electronic Documents.

  • Proficiency In Document Imaging Software: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Document Imaging Software, Such As Kofax Or Onbase, And Be Able To Accurately Scan And Index Documents Into The System.

  • Attention To Detail: Document Imaging Requires A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail To Ensure All Documents Are Properly Scanned And Indexed. Candidates Should Possess Strong Organizational Skills And Be Able To Maintain A High Level Of Accuracy In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: A Him Document Imaging Specialist At Orlando Health Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology To Accurately Identify And Index Medical Records.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role As The Him Document Imaging Specialist Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Medical Coders. Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With The Team.
