  1. Review and analyze patient medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  2. Identify and rectify incomplete or incorrect documentation in patient records through collaboration with healthcare providers.
  3. Utilize coding systems and medical terminology to accurately assign codes and ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
  4. Maintain and update electronic health records with relevant information and documentation.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  6. Identify patterns or trends in documentation deficiencies and report them to appropriate departments for further action.
  7. Act as a resource and provide education to healthcare providers and staff on proper documentation practices and coding guidelines.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical record documentation and coding.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  10. Stay updated on industry changes and developments related to medical record documentation and coding.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete medical records.
  13. Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  14. Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the mission and values of Orlando Health.
  15. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Him Or Coding Role

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Medical Record Documentation And Coding

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Coding Software, Such As Epic And 3M Encoder
