- Provide personalized financial counseling to patients to help them understand their financial obligations and options.
- Assess patients' financial situations and develop individualized financial plans to help them achieve stability and well-being.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage, payment options, and financial assistance programs available to them.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patients receive appropriate care and financial support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed financial records for patients, including payment plans and financial assistance applications.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance policies, reimbursement guidelines, and financial assistance programs to provide the most accurate and relevant information to patients.
- Provide excellent customer service and act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies to resolve any billing or coverage issues.
- Assist patients with completing financial assistance applications and follow up to ensure timely processing and approval.
- Communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds and provide culturally sensitive financial counseling.
- Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures when handling patient financial information.
- Collaborate with the billing and collections team to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections for patient accounts.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current on financial counseling best practices and regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with patients and colleagues.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the financial counseling process and provide feedback to management for process improvement.
- Adhere to all Orlando Health policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Economics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Financial Counseling Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Financial Planning Principles And Strategies.
Familiarity With Healthcare Billing And Insurance Processes.
