- Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and secure exchange of health information throughout the organization.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the health information exchange (HIE) platform.
- Collaborate with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless integration of health information.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in health information technology and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Manage the budget and resources for the HIE department.
- Provide leadership and direction to the HIE team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to health information exchange, such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Work closely with clinical teams to identify their needs and implement solutions for efficient and effective exchange of health information.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and government agencies.
- Monitor and analyze data exchange performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the HIE platform.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on HIE initiatives and address any concerns or challenges.
- Participate in the development and implementation of organization-wide IT strategies and initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on health information exchange and provide guidance and support to other departments as needed.
- Continuously assess and improve HIE processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
