Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of IT Health Information Data Exchange to join our fast-paced and innovative team. As the Director of IT Health Information Data Exchange, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the exchange of vital health information to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.   1. Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and secure exchange of health information throughout the organization.
  2. Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the health information exchange (HIE) platform.
  3. Collaborate with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless integration of health information.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in health information technology and make recommendations for their implementation.
  5. Manage the budget and resources for the HIE department.
  6. Provide leadership and direction to the HIE team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to health information exchange, such as HIPAA and HITECH.
  8. Work closely with clinical teams to identify their needs and implement solutions for efficient and effective exchange of health information.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and government agencies.
  10. Monitor and analyze data exchange performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  11. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the HIE platform.
  12. Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on HIE initiatives and address any concerns or challenges.
  13. Participate in the development and implementation of organization-wide IT strategies and initiatives.
  14. Serve as a subject matter expert on health information exchange and provide guidance and support to other departments as needed.
  15. Continuously assess and improve HIE processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Health Information Technology: A Director Of It Health Information Data Exchange At Orlando Health Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Electronic Health Record Systems, Data Storage And Management, And Other Health Information Technology Tools And Systems.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Director, This Individual Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team And Delegate Tasks. They Should Be Able To Inspire And Motivate Team Members To Work Towards A Common Goal.

  • Experience In Data Management And Exchange: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Managing And Exchanging Health Information Data, Including Electronic Medical Records, Lab Results, And Other Clinical Data. They Should Also Be Familiar With Data Security And Privacy Regulations.

  • Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: A Director Of It Health Information Data Exchange Should Have Excellent Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities To Identify Potential Issues And Develop Effective Solutions. They Should Also Be Able To Make Data-Driven Decisions To Improve Processes And Systems.
