As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a vital role in the detection and diagnosis of diseases by examining cells under a microscope.   1. Perform microscopic examinations of cellular samples to detect abnormalities and diagnose diseases.
  2. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and timely analysis of samples.
  3. Utilize advanced laboratory equipment and techniques to prepare and stain cellular samples for examination.
  4. Maintain a high level of proficiency in cytology techniques and stay up-to-date on industry advancements and changes.
  5. Interpret and document findings accurately, maintaining strict adherence to quality control standards.
  6. Collaborate with other medical professionals, including pathologists and physicians, to determine the best course of action for patient care.
  7. Keep detailed records of tests performed and results obtained, ensuring all information is accurately and securely documented.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of cytotechnology.
  10. Provide exceptional patient care and customer service, demonstrating compassion and empathy in all interactions.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  12. Take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during testing.
  13. Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors, providing clear and concise updates on sample analysis and test results.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification As A Cytotechnologist From The American Society Of Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cytotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Regulations And Quality Standards, Including Clia And Cap.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment And Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
