
CT Technologist - Imaging

- Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, specifically CT scanners, to produce high-quality scans for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for CT scans, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Administer contrast media as needed, following all safety protocols and accurately documenting information.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.
- Monitor and assess patients' condition during and after the CT scan, reporting any adverse reactions or changes to the appropriate medical staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all imaging procedures are properly documented.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the imaging department.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all imaging equipment.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques related to CT imaging.
- Provide compassionate and high-quality patient care, addressing any concerns or questions they may have about the procedure.
- Uphold the values and mission of Orlando Health by promoting a positive and professional work environment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in training and mentoring new CT technologists and students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Imaging department manager or supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field: A Ct Technologist At Orlando Health Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field. This Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Ct Scans And Other Imaging Procedures.
Certification In Computed Tomography (Ct): In Addition To A Degree, A Ct Technologist Should Also Be Certified By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Computed Tomography. This Certification Ensures That The Technologist Has Met The Necessary Education And Experience Requirements To Perform Ct Scans.
Strong Knowledge Of Human Anatomy And Physiology: A Ct Technologist Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Human Anatomy And Physiology In Order To Properly Position Patients For Scans And Accurately Interpret Images. This Knowledge Is Essential For Identifying Abnormalities Or Potential Issues In The Images.
Experience With Advanced Ct Equipment And Technology: Orlando Health Is A Leading Healthcare Provider, And It Is Important For A Ct Technologist To Have Experience Working With Advanced Ct Equipment And Technology. This Includes Knowledge Of 3D Imaging, Multi-Slice Ct Scanners, And Other Specialized Equipment.
Excellent Communication And Patient Care Skills: As With Any Healthcare Position, A Ct Technologist At Orlando Health Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Provide Compassionate Patient Care. This Includes Explaining Procedures To Patients, Calming Anxious Individuals, And Accurately Documenting Patient Information.
