  1. Dispense and ensure the safe and accurate use of medications for patients in accordance with state and federal laws, as well as Orlando Health's policies and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review and verify medication orders, monitor drug therapy, and make recommendations for medication adjustments as needed.
  3. Conduct medication reconciliation for patients upon admission, transfer, and discharge to ensure continuity of care and prevent adverse drug events.
  4. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide medication-related recommendations to improve patient outcomes.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication profiles and provide patient counseling on proper medication use, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  6. Monitor and manage drug inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  7. Ensure compliance with all medication storage and handling requirements, including temperature controls and proper labeling.
  8. Stay current with new medications, therapies, and treatment guidelines through continuing education and participation in professional organizations.
  9. Serve as a resource and provide education to healthcare professionals, patients, and their families about medication use and safety.
  10. Adhere to quality improvement initiatives and participate in medication safety initiatives.
  11. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient and timely medication dispensing and delivery services.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  13. Comply with standards, policies, and procedures set forth by Orlando Health and regulatory agencies.
  14. Foster a culture of safety, excellence, and patient-centered care.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Active And Unrestricted Pharmacist License In The State Of Florida.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Pharmacy Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medication Therapy Management, Drug Interactions, And Pharmaceutical Calculations.

  • Ability To Effectively Communicate With Healthcare Professionals And Patients, And Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
