As a Chaplain, you will play a vital role in our healthcare system by providing spiritual care to patients, families, and staff.   1. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff during difficult and challenging times.
  2. Offer spiritual guidance and counseling to individuals of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
  3. Conduct religious services and ceremonies for patients and staff, as requested.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with community clergy and faith-based organizations.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient's beliefs, values, and religious preferences.
  7. Create and maintain records of spiritual care provided to patients.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance spiritual care skills.
  9. Serve as an advocate for patients' spiritual needs and rights within the healthcare system.
  10. Provide crisis intervention and support during traumatic events.
  11. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment for staff.
  12. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
  13. Facilitate grief support groups for patients, families, and staff.
  14. Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to address psychosocial needs of patients.
  15. Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to spiritual care and patient experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Ordination Or Endorsement From A Recognized Religious Organization: To Serve As A Chaplain At Orlando Health, Candidates Must Hold Valid Ordination Or Endorsement From A Recognized Religious Organization. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Authority To Provide Spiritual Care To Patients, Families, And Staff.

  • Previous Experience In Pastoral Care: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In Pastoral Care, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Provide Spiritual Support And Counseling To Individuals In Crisis Or Facing Difficult Medical Situations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Chaplain, Candidates Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Connect With Patients And Their Families. They Should Be Able To Provide Emotional And Spiritual Support In A Compassionate And Non-Judgmental Manner.

  • Knowledge Of Diverse Faiths And Cultures: Orlando Health Serves A Diverse Patient Population, And The Chaplain Must Be Knowledgeable About Various Faiths, Cultures, And Religious Practices. This Will Enable Them To Provide Appropriate Spiritual Care To Patients From Different Backgrounds.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment: Working In A Hospital Setting Can Be Demanding And Emotionally Draining. The Chaplain Must Be Able To Handle The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, And Must Have The Emotional Resilience To Provide Support To Patients And Their Families During Difficult Times.
