- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with established protocols and treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to help patients improve their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in function and response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques and exercises to continue at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols related to patient care and safety.
- Continuously evaluate and modify treatment plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Stay current on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy to enhance patient care.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and codes of conduct in the performance of duties.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to obtain authorization for treatments and ensure proper billing practices.
Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy: A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Cota) At Lake Mary Hospital Must Possess An Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program.
State Licensure: The Candidate Must Be Licensed By The State Of Florida As An Occupational Therapy Assistant And Maintain A Valid License Throughout Their Employment.
Experience In A Hospital Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Setting, Particularly In A Rehabilitation Or Acute Care Department, Is Preferred For This Role.
Knowledge Of Occupational Therapy Interventions: The Cota Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Occupational Therapy Interventions, Techniques, And Equipment To Assist Patients In Their Rehabilitation Process.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, The Cota Must Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide High-Quality Care.
