Job Description

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive athletic training programs for athletes to optimize their performance and prevent injuries.
  2. Provide on-site care for athletes during practices and games, including evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
  3. Collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and athletes to develop injury prevention strategies and educate on proper techniques and conditioning.
  4. Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and progress for each athlete.
  5. Stay updated on current research and best practices in sports medicine and injury prevention.
  6. Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and medical staff to ensure timely and appropriate care.
  7. Monitor and maintain athletic training equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working condition.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for athletes.
  9. Attend team practices, games, and events as required to provide immediate care for athletes.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for athletes.
  11. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain certification.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  13. Act as a liaison between athletes, coaches, and medical staff to ensure a coordinated approach to athlete care.
  14. Serve as a mentor and role model for student athletic trainers and interns.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Orlando Health in all interactions and responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Certified Athletic Trainer At Orlando Health Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or A Related Field From An Accredited Program. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Education And Training In The Field Of Athletic Training.

  • Certification Through The Board Of Certification (Boc): All Certified Athletic Trainers At Orlando Health Must Hold A Current Certification Through The Boc. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Passed A Comprehensive Exam And Has Met All Of The Requirements To Practice As An Athletic Trainer.

  • State Licensure: In Addition To National Certification, A Certified Athletic Trainer At Orlando Health Must Also Hold A State License To Practice Athletic Training. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Legally Able To Provide Services As An Athletic Trainer Within The State Of Florida.

  • Cpr And First Aid Certification: Orlando Health Requires All Certified Athletic Trainers To Possess Current Cpr And First Aid Certification. This Is Essential For Handling Emergency Situations That May Occur While Working With Athletes.

  • Previous Experience: While Not Always Required, Having Previous Experience As An Athletic Trainer Is Often Preferred For This Position. Experience In A Clinical Setting Or Working With Sports Teams Can Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle A Variety Of Situations And Provide Quality Care To Athletes.
