  1. Administer Cellular Therapies: The Cellular Therapy Specialist will be responsible for administering cellular therapies to patients with various medical conditions. This includes preparing the treatment, monitoring the patient's response, and documenting the procedure accurately.
  2. Patient Care: The specialist will be responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients undergoing cellular therapies. This includes addressing any concerns or questions they may have, ensuring their comfort and safety during the procedure, and following up with them post-treatment.
  3. Stay Up-to-date with Advances in Cellular Therapy: The specialist will be expected to stay current with the latest advancements in cellular therapy and attend relevant conferences and workshops to continuously improve their skills and knowledge.
  4. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The Cellular Therapy Specialist will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients. They will also be responsible for communicating any changes or concerns regarding the patient's condition to the team.
  5. Maintain Equipment and Supplies: The specialist will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating equipment used for cellular therapy procedures. They will also be in charge of ordering and restocking necessary supplies to ensure the smooth operation of the therapy program.
  6. Ensure Compliance and Safety: The specialist will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and safety protocols for cellular therapy treatments. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete patient records.
  7. Educate Patients and Families: The specialist will educate patients and their families on cellular therapy procedures, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions. They will also provide emotional support and resources to help patients and their families cope with the treatment process.

Job Qualifications
  • Degree In A Relevant Field: A Cellular Therapy Specialist At Orlando Health Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Microbiology, Or Biochemistry. A Higher Degree Such As A Master's Or Phd May Also Be Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Cellular Therapy Techniques: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Cellular Therapy Techniques, Including Stem Cell Transplantation, Chimeric Antigen Receptor (Car) T-Cell Therapy, And Cytokine-Induced Killer (Cik) Cell Therapy. Experience With These Techniques Is Highly Desirable.

  • Certification: A Cellular Therapy Specialist Should Be Certified By A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The International Society For Cellular Therapy (Isct). This Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Commitment To The Field.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Cellular Therapy Unit, Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With The Protocols And Procedures Involved In Administering Cellular Therapy And Have A Strong Understanding Of Patient Care.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Cellular Therapy Specialist Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail, As Even Minor Errors Can Have Serious Consequences For Patients. Candidates Should Be Meticulous In Their Work And Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Manage Multiple Tasks And Projects Simultaneously.
