- Serve as the main point of contact for child protection cases, ensuring timely and effective communication with all involved parties.
- Conduct thorough assessments of child abuse and neglect reports, utilizing knowledge of relevant laws and protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, law enforcement, and other relevant parties to develop comprehensive care plans for children at risk.
- Monitor and track the progress of child protection cases, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Provide support and guidance to families involved in child protection cases, connecting them with appropriate resources and services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all case-related information.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest policies and procedures related to child protection, and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss and strategize on complex cases.
- Act as an advocate for the best interest of the child, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the case.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Child Protection Team.
- Provide training and education to healthcare staff and community members on identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect.
- Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach when working with children and families who have experienced trauma.
- Adhere to all ethical standards and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Foundation In Social Work Or A Related Field Is Essential For A Case Coordinator In The Child Protection Team At Orlando Health. This Degree Equips Individuals With The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Work With Vulnerable Populations, Such As Children In Need Of Protection.
Previous Experience In Child Welfare Or Child Protection: Ideally, Candidates For This Position Should Have Prior Experience Working In The Field Of Child Welfare Or Child Protection. This Could Include Experience As A Case Manager, Social Worker, Or Other Related Roles.
Knowledge Of Child Protection Laws And Regulations: A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Laws Related To Child Protection Is Crucial For A Case Coordinator In This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Reporting Requirements, Confidentiality Laws, And Child Abuse And Neglect Statutes.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: As A Case Coordinator, You Will Be Responsible For Coordinating And Managing The Care Of Multiple Children And Families. Therefore, Strong Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Social Workers, Legal Professionals, And Medical Staff.
