As a Cardiac Device Specialist, you will play a critical role in the management and maintenance of cardiac devices for our patients.   1. Perform thorough and accurate assessments of patients' cardiac devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with cardiac devices, based on their specific needs and device specifications.
  3. Educate patients and their families on the proper use and maintenance of cardiac devices, including troubleshooting techniques and potential complications.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal management and functioning of cardiac devices.
  5. Monitor and interpret data from device interrogations, identifying any abnormalities or issues and taking appropriate actions.
  6. Perform device programming and reprogramming as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, device settings, and device performance.
  8. Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives related to cardiac device management.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in cardiac device technology and incorporate this knowledge into practice.
  10. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families regarding the impact of cardiac devices on their daily lives.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines, in the care and management of cardiac devices.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and collaborative care experience.
  13. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following infection control and safety protocols.
  14. Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to cardiac device management.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Orlando Health, promoting a patient-centered and compassionate approach to care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In A Relevant Field Is Essential For A Cardiac Device Specialist As It Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Understand The Complexities Of Cardiac Devices.

  • Certification In Medical Device Industry: Having A Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The International Board Of Heart Rhythm Examiners (Ibhre), Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Knowledge In The Field Of Cardiac Devices.

  • Experience In Cardiac Device Management: Previous Experience In Managing Cardiac Devices, Including Implanting, Programming, And Troubleshooting, Is Crucial For A Cardiac Device Specialist. This Ensures The Ability To Provide Quality Care And Support To Patients With Cardiac Devices.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory And Compliance Standards: A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory And Compliance Standards, Such As Fda Regulations, Is Necessary To Ensure The Safe And Effective Use Of Cardiac Devices.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Cardiac Device Specialist, One Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
