In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in a variety of cardiac catheterization procedures and providing exceptional patient care. To be successful in this position, you must have a thorough understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as strong technical skills in operating and troubleshooting equipment. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting and certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) are also required.   1. Perform cardiac catheterization procedures with precision and accuracy, following established protocols and safety measures.
  2. Assure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures, providing reassurance and support as needed.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and response to procedures, alerting medical team to any changes or concerns.
  4. Operate and troubleshoot equipment used in cardiac catheterization procedures, including imaging systems, pressure monitors, and other specialized tools.
  5. Assist physicians and other medical professionals during procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary tools and supplies.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and stored.
  7. Document and maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and equipment usage.
  8. Continuously monitor and assess patient condition and response to procedures, reporting any changes or concerns to medical team.
  9. Comply with all safety and infection control protocols, following established guidelines and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and technicians, to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  11. Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in cardiac catheterization technology and procedures, participating in ongoing education and training as required.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
  13. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the cardiac cath lab department.
  16. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting teamwork and collaboration within the department and throughout the organization.
  17. Act as a role model for best practices and professional behavior, upholding the values and mission of Orlando Health.
  18. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Training: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Cardiovascular Technology Or A Related Field Is Required. Additional Certifications And Training In Cardiac Catheterization Procedures, Such As Rcis Or Cct, Are Also Preferred.

  • Experience In A Cath Lab Setting: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Cardiac Catheterization Lab Is Typically Required For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Cardiac Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As Experience With Diagnostic And Interventional Procedures.

  • Technical Skills: Cardiac Cath Lab Techs Must Have Strong Technical Skills, Including The Ability To Operate And Troubleshoot Specialized Equipment Used In Catheterization Procedures. Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Other Computer Software Is Also Important.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Critical In This Role, As Cardiac Cath Lab Techs Must Carefully Monitor And Record Patient Vital Signs, Catheter Placement, And Other Important Data During Procedures.

  • Teamwork And Communication: The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment And Effectively Communicate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. Cardiac Cath Lab Techs Should Be Able To Follow Directions, Provide Assistance During Procedures, And Communicate Any Concerns Or Changes In Patient Status To The Rest Of The Team.
