Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking an Assistant Manager of Physician Coding to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely coding for our physicians. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our coding team and physicians to support our mission of providing exceptional patient care.   1. Accurately assign and review CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for physician services in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Ensure that all coding is completed in a timely manner and meets established productivity and accuracy standards.
  3. Monitor and analyze coding quality and productivity metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and coding staff to resolve coding-related issues and provide education on coding guidelines and updates.
  5. Stay up-to-date on coding changes and regulations to ensure compliance and provide training to coding staff as needed.
  6. Train and mentor coding staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.
  7. Oversee the coding team's work schedules, workload distribution, and performance evaluations.
  8. Assist in developing and implementing coding policies and procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  9. Conduct audits on coding processes and documentation to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the coding team and other departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  12. Uphold the organization's mission and values and promote a positive and professional work environment.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed on organizational updates and changes.
  14. Continuously seek out opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance knowledge and skills.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Coding Manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Physician Coding, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Coding Guidelines, Regulations, And Compliance Standards.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Coding Software, Such As Epic Or Meditech.
