Job Description

Are you a talented and driven Registered Nurse with a passion for leadership and patient care? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager at Orlando Health's PreOp and Discharge Holding department at ORMC. In this role, you will utilize your clinical expertise and management skills to support the daily operations of our busy surgical unit.   1. Oversee daily operations of the PreOp and Discharge Holding department at ORMC, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
  2. Utilize clinical expertise to support and guide nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients.
  3. Collaborate with the Nurse Operations Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the overall functioning of the department.
  4. Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, and take action to address any areas of concern or improvement.
  5. Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  6. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to nursing staff to facilitate their professional growth and development.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
  8. Create and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Assist in the recruitment, training, and orientation of new nursing staff to ensure a competent and cohesive team.
  10. Support and adhere to organizational policies and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  11. Stay updated on current healthcare trends and best practices, and implement them in the department to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  12. Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring effective resolution.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with other managers to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records related to departmental operations and patient care.
  15. Serve as a role model for nursing staff, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution

  • Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Perioperative Nursing, With Previous Leadership Or Management Experience Preferred

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Preoperative And Discharge Holding Processes And Protocols

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Nurses And Support Staff
