- Provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer and blood disorders under the direction of physicians.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and make clinical judgments to determine appropriate care.
- Manage and monitor patient symptoms, side effects, and response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Monitor and maintain patient safety and infection control measures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in oncology and hematology.
- Follow all established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs are met.
- Collaborate with community resources to provide support and resources for patients.
- Act as a resource for other healthcare professionals and provide guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and conferences.
- Maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Advanced Degree In Either Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies, With A Focus On Oncology And Hematology
Board Certification In Oncology Or Hematology, Or Both
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Advanced Practice Role In An Oncology Or Hematology Setting
Strong Knowledge Of Current Oncology And Hematology Treatment Protocols And Medications
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Effectively Educate And Support Patients And Their Families.
