Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking an Advanced Endoscopy Technician to join our team and play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients. As an Advanced Endoscopy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with advanced endoscopic procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients, and maintaining the integrity of our equipment and supplies.   • Assist with advanced endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures, including monitoring vital signs and responding to any potential complications
  • Maintain the integrity and functionality of endoscopy equipment and supplies, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments and ensuring proper storage and organization
  • Collaborate with medical team to prepare patients for procedures, explain the process and answer any questions or concerns
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently, including procedure details, medications administered, and patient responses
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
  • Continuously monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to appropriate personnel
  • Provide support and assistance to physicians and nurses during procedures as needed
  • Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor towards patients and families, providing emotional support and reassurance as needed
  • Attend trainings and stay up-to-date on advancements and best practices in the field of digestive health to ensure high-quality care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Training: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, With Preference Given To Candidates Who Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Endoscopy Technology Or A Related Field.

  • Endoscopy Experience: Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In An Endoscopy Setting Is Required, With Preference Given To Candidates Who Have Experience With Advanced Endoscopic Procedures Such As Ercp, Eus, Or Emr.

  • Knowledge Of Endoscopic Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Endoscopic Equipment, Including Maintenance, Troubleshooting, And Set-Up For Various Procedures.

  • Certification: Candidates Should Hold A Current Certification As An Endoscopy Technician Or Technologist (Cet Or Cer), Or Be Willing To Obtain Certification Within The First Year Of Employment.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Work Collaboratively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team Is Essential In This Role. A Positive Attitude And The Ability To Adapt To Changing Situations Are Also Important Qualities.
